I Am Ready to Embrace My Natural Gray Hair

I mentioned this to my daughter Nikki, and she immediately told me I would look old. I laughed and said I am. What age is considered old nowadays? Can't I rock natural gray hair and be a cool Mom too?

For years, dyeing my hair has been a personal ritual that I haven't given much thought to. I've been almost fully gray since my early twenties, and I have consistently colored my hair for almost thirty years. I'm sixty now. I've never thought twice about it; it's just something I've done. But as time has passed, I've come to realize chile, I'm over it. Being natural all these years has me ready to fully embrace my natural gray royalty.

At first, I was apprehensive about how others would react. I've been dyeing my natural gray hair for so long that it feels like a part of my identity. I worried that people would think I looked older or unattractive. But I've always been off the beaten path and the idea makes me feel more confident and empowered than ever before. My natural gray hair is a reflection of my life experiences and is something to be celebrated.

I've already started letting my natural gray grow out, and I will experiment with different loc styles and products to keep my hair healthy and vibrant. I've been researching. There are many options available for natural gray hair. I'm excited about the possibilities.

Right now, I feel liberated and empowered by my decision. I refuse to feel tied down by the expectations of others, and I am free to express myself authentically. It's amazing how a simple decision can lead to such positive changes in my life. I'm excited to see what other opportunities and experiences will come from this simple life hack.

I feel like I'm forty most days, but my knees say otherwise. But this journey with my natural gray hair is different. Oh, don't get it twisted, I've been blonde, a redhead, and a brunette for a hot minute. I'm sure I will be trying one of those wax colorings for summertime blue or purple styles. But gray it is baby. I'm excited. I'll post a picture update soon.
